Fall 2010 - Spring 2013

Week 1

Tuesday, January 17, 2012

I am really looking forward to this course! Emerging technologies is something that has interested me for about a year. This course is important to me because I was away from graduate school last semester. Last fall, two very important people (father and grandmother) passed away. I was back in Texas for about two months to grieve and heal with family. I am very excited to be back taking classes!!!

The Journey Begins

Monday, November 15, 2010

Our cohort met for the first time in August 2010. We created a contact list for all members of the cohort. This was my silly picture! Behind this goofy smile was lots of nervous energy. I had waited an extra year to begin this program, so I was overly anxious about doing my best.

My Biggest Fan

Thursday, November 11, 2010

This first post is in memory and honor of my late grandfather Kyle L. Riddle. He always encouraged me to pursue post-graduate opportunities, so it is with him in mind and in my heart that I am pursing a second master's degree in educational technology at the University of Hawaii. While I was working on my first master's degree at Texas A&M, he wrote me a letter that I still look at often. An excerpt from that letter follows.

I am delighted that you are still pursuing your "MASTER'S" degree. Please carry on this pursuit. You have always been a "HIGH-LIGHT" to your old grandad. Please keep it up. --Dada

I know he is with me on this journey smiling and yelling, "Hooray!"

Dada, I miss you a million light years away.
